My philosophy is about bringing clarity and lightness to my clients’ body and whole being. I’m a caring teacher who is both fierce and gentle in my approach. My wisdom and curiosity about people enable me to discover my clients’ truth and mirror it back to them. I have a resiliency about me that clients often absorb and adopt into their own lives.
I started my personal training career 23 years ago when my success as an amateur bodybuilder showed me that I could teach others the art and discipline of exercise in order to get into the best shape of their lives. My body, and how it looked, felt, moved and reacted to life has played a primary role in my own development and in my relationships with others. I have dedicated myself to the service and attention I can give to your body and the balance of your life.
In 2006, I discovered integral coaching and enrolled in a training program at New Ventures West in San Francisco, which I completed in 2008. I’m fascinated by what it means to be human. Not the narrow definition of humanity that our mind traps us in much of the time, but the expansiveness that comes from being fully present in our own lives. I’m inspired by women and men age 50+ whose lives are in transition and are looking for a deeper meaning, more belonging, and contributing to the world in a significant way.
I’m so inspired by the work of Pema Chodron, who teaches that we are all needed to create positive change in the world. We must learn to be more present in our lives, and in order to do that, we must be more present in our bodies, taking care of our true nature and becoming more authentic in our response to life.
